Our mission
Our mission is to revolutionize gut health and personalized nutrition by developing cutting-edge technologies that advance the creation of effective nutrition products and empower individuals with tailored nutritional support.
About
NIUM was founded with the mission to revolutionize personalized nutrition and gut health through advanced technology. Recognizing the complexity of predicting individual food responses, NIUM developed science-driven solutions that transform nutrition research and product development.
Using innovative biotechnology like the MicroGUT platform, NIUM enables companies to create cutting-edge nutrition products tailored to improve health outcomes. By focusing on understanding how the gut microbiome responds to different foods and compounds, NIUM is advancing the future of personalized health and nutrition.
What began as a spin-off from the University of Luxembourg and the licensing of an extensive IP portfolio, has expanded significantly. NIUM now operates from its own laboratory at the House of BioHealth in Luxembourg and has also established a presence in Portugal at the UPTEC incubator, the technological hub of the University of Porto.
At the core of NIUM’s work is the belief that gut health is essential to reshaping our approach to nutrition. By developing sophisticated models of digestion and microbiome analysis, NIUM is making personalized nutrition accessible to all and driving innovation in the health and food industries.
